There's a lot going on. A GRAND JURY was always the answer. Citizens - not politicians, not scientists, not others with a stake in the outcome. That a governor calls for a GJ shows he is unbiased and is working for The People. Other politicians want to control everything. A GJ is not controlled by any branch of government, though the executive has the most influence over them because the "legal consultant" to the GJ is nearly always a state attorney or US Attorney in case of a fed GJ.
Given existing laws/regulations, and the broad scope of the Grand Jury charge, I can't help but wonder how effective it will be. Any lawyers who'd like to weigh in?
I am really excited about the three other parts of DeSantis' announcement:

The Legislature will introduce a new bill to protect physicians’ independent judgment, their First Amendment rights, and their right to dissent from the orthodox narrative.
Since the CDC won’t do it, Florida’s Surgeon General is initiating a scientific surveillance study of the incidence of death from myocarditis within a few weeks of covid-19. They’ll be working with scientists from the University of Florida."
The very sad fact of the matter is unfortunately you cannot trust Ron Desantis - just like all the others he has been bought and paid for, quite handsomely I might add! Look at his campaign trust and the people that now own him! Therefore, how is he any different than ALL OF THE REST? Trump will use that against him while DeSantis uses the lethal injections against Trump! This very will could be more about solidifying a Trump loss with a guarantee DeSantis win simply at a later date! It's really sad that at first glance you're happy until you peel back the covers - until Bobby Kennedy Jr. comes out and endorses DeSantis I trust nothing he says nor does! No one in politics knows how the game is played better than the Kennedy's. Bobby has said the only way to fix all of this is abolish all of these alphabet agencies and start over - Trump was actually on to something when he threatened Schedule F and has since stated he would fire 50,000 government employee's if re-elected. On the other hand Bobby has nothing to gain - has fame and fortune - in my opinion he's the only way to save all of us! I am hoping he'll throw his hat in as a last minute candidate.
Go DeSantis! Maybe he will give other states and Governers, who have some integrity, the courage to do the right thing? And Americans will no longer be imprisioned by this whole premeditated political Cabal take-over disguised as a Plandemic because the TRUTH will come to those who need to hear it the most. The problem is they can never pay for the lives they've ruined unless criminal intent to kill and maim is brought to bear. These people need to pay a lot more than money.
