I think that if the ICD10 codes for a country could be queried in a anonymised way through a API in the following way they could tell us what things are causal due to statistical likelihood and what things probably are not.
Asking the API for EVERY code pair for the number of days the one code precedes or lags the nearest (preceding and following in repeated) other for every time this occurs in a person we could guess at causality for a LOT of iatrogenic harm.
So if sudden infant death (is almost always) after infant inoculation that would be a signal. If addiction management is almost always after opioid prescription that would be a signal.
In Finland all the healthcare data is well collected and if there was a good quality research proposal written in such a way that it would seem to make a university famous it might expose a lot of information. Using a API or simple code pair data set would allow all instances to be collected without bleeding any personal data.
