“Tucker’s show is a loss because Tucker had the biggest Democratic audience on TV,” expressed Democratic Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Tuesday night on the Kim Iversen show.
In case you’re out of the loop, Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News. His last show was Friday, April 21, and Fox News is looking for a replacement for the 8 p.m. Eastern weeknight slot.
Fox News made the announcement Monday (April 24):
NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.
Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.
“So, no goodbye show. No, ‘Hey, this is why this is happening.’ Just buh-bye” commented radio personality Steve Burguiere on Glenn Beck's show Monday.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. continued. “He had more Democrats watching him in most demographics than Rachel Maddow. Rachel Maddow was kind of the next stop. But a lot of people watch Tucker, who are not Republicans. And he had 3.5 million [viewers] on an average night and 5 million on a really good night. And that — his average night was ten times CNN’s average. So he was talking to a lot of people.”
“It’s kind of shocking that they threw him off,” conveyed Mr. Kennedy. “He was saying things that nobody has ever said on TV before. He was talking about advertisers dictating content — pharmaceutical advertisers getting newscasters on the networks to say things about vaccines that weren’t true. And nobody’s ever talked like that.”
Here’s an excerpt from that famous April 19 monologue:
Sometimes you wonder just how filthy and dishonest our news media are. You’ll be in the shower, and you’ll think they’re bad. But how bad are they? Well, here’s one measure of their badness. You can try this at home. Ask yourself, is any news organization you know of so corrupt that it’s willing to hurt you on behalf of its biggest advertisers? Anyone who’d do that is obviously Pablo Escobar-level corrupt and should not be trusted.
What would that look like? That level of corruption? Well, imagine that the Trump administration had made it mandatory for American citizens to buy My Pillow. That’s one of Fox News’ biggest advertisers. Imagine the administration declared that if you didn’t rush out and buy at least one My Pillow and then at least another booster pillow, you would not be allowed to eat out." You couldn’t reenter your own country. You couldn’t have a paying job. MyPillow, they told you with a straight face, was the very linchpin of our country’s public health system.
Now imagine, as they told you, that Fox, as a news organization, endorsed it — amplified the government’s message. Imagine if Fox News attacked anyone who refused to buy My Pillow as an “ally of Russia” — as an “enemy of science.” And then imagine that Fox kept up those libelous attacks even as evidence mounted that My Pillow caused heart attacks, fertility problems, and death. If Fox News did that, what would you think of Fox News? Would you trust us? Of course, you wouldn’t. You would know that we were liars.
Despite Tucker not accusing Fox News of bending the knee to pharma, it turns out the conservative news outlet IS, to an extent, beholden to the pharmaceutical industry.
Brownstone Institute reported:
Beyond MyPillow, Fox News’ largest advertisers include GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Novartis, and BlackRock.
Vanguard is the largest institutional owner of Fox Corporation, holding a 6.9 percent stake in the company. BlackRock owns an additional 4.7 percent.
Vanguard and BlackRock are the two largest owners of Pfizer. Combined, they own over 15 percent of the company.
Vanguard and BlackRock are the two largest owners of Johnson & Johnson. Combined, they own over 14 percent of the company.
Vanguard and BlackRock are the second and third largest owners of Moderna. Combined, they own over 13 percent of the company.
Perhaps, you may be noticing a trend.
“And five days later, he [Tucker] was off,” lamented Mr. Kennedy. “I don’t know whether that’s why he got kicked off, but I’m sure that the advertisers were really angry at him.”
What do you think?
Was this the straw that led Fox News and Tucker to part ways? Or was it the January 6 tapes or the $787.5 million defamation suit that Fox News settled with Dominion voting systems? Perhaps none of the above, something else, or a combination of all three situations? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
