When I was diagnosed with type two diabetes, the doctor wanted to put me on three drugs that included a statin drug. I asked “what about diet and exercise?” He replied that that doesn’t work… I blew out my pancreas. I dropped him as my doctor, got off sugar and carbs, went for walks, and within three years I lost 40lbs and became pre-diabetic. That doctor just wanted a trip to Tahiti!

Either that or that is what he was indoctrinated to truly believe. And, to be fair, too many people do not stick to a healthy diet and exercise program, although people who do are growing in numbers. There are a lot of good, well meaning doctors who still believe in the value of statins, like Dr. Peter McCullough for one. Subscribers to his Substack have recommended that he have a debate with a well respected physician on the other side of the issue. That would be very interesting.

Your experience is common because our "health care" system is not designed to help us to be healthy but to get us to take as many drugs as Big Pharma can convince the medical community to prescribe.

Keep an eye out for Tucker Carlson's interview with Casey and Calley Means. It came out today for subscribers to Tucker Carlson's Network. It should drop on Rumble in the next day or two. Tucker said during the interview a few times that the video will either be outright banned or demonetized on Youtube. They have a book out now called "Good Energy". (disclaimer: I just bought it an hour ago). The interview is intense, filled with LOTS of information and well worth watch!

Medical school curricula typically don't include more than one day's information about the role of diet in health. What they ARE taught is which medications are prescribed for which ailments. I've been sending lots of info about diet to my doctor since covid started and he now recites it when I visit him.

It is interesting, when the statins first entered the market, the first one was named Mevacor, the total cholesterol level that "required" treatment was listed at 250. Then, when the drug caught on and other derivatives of statins entered the market, the level for treatment dropped to 200. Now, tell me, how do they come up with these numbers? IMO the level of cholesterol depends on a number of factors and it varies from person to person. I worked in the Pharmaceutical world for 17 years and this class of drug has generated billions of dollars. Yet, heart disease has not decreased since the inception of these drugs. I recently read where the higher levels of Alzheimers may be attributed to the statins.

I remember many, many years ago, 140/80 was a good blood pressure reading.

Now the docs want it to be 120/80.

The same "Midwestern Doctor" who wrote this article about the scam of of statins has recently written another interesting article about a similar situation with blood pressure medication. The pharmaceutical industry creates a condition (like high BP or high cholesterol) so they can sell a drug to "fix it".

Covid shots created RSV in seniors now they made a vax to fix RSV

Note: RSV pre covid was primarily an infant malady

I raised 3 children who are now adults and I had never heard of RSV until the covid era (when i was told it is quite common!). I have read that RSV is another lab-created virus. I'm starting to see a pattern - one of creating diseases in order to offer a solution (with great financial benefits to the drug companies!)

I highly suggest you read "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. You can absolutely fix this problem through diet, and I'm NOT talking about lowering salt intake.

They are lying about salt too. A doctor I listen to said in his experience most of the elders who die of heat stroke are on low salt diets. And skin cancer.....The most deadly skin cancers come from lack of sun Ive read. Interesting and scary stuff because we are told the exact opposite of all of these things.

In the year 2005, I read an article entitled "Change the number, create a disease" where the level for "normal" blood pressure was decreased, the level for "normal" cholesterol was decreased, and a new disease called osteopenia was created which was the precursor to osteoporosis.

All of these changes were made to get thousands more people on lifetime drug usage and increase the profits of companies doing blood tests and diagnostic tests.

This is the year I realized our "health care" system is controlled by the drug companies and since then I never trusted any of the claims made by the CDC.

I remember the blood pressure go from 130 to 120. I was on the road with my husband at the time and usually had 123, 125.. this meant that my I could not drive on my CDL anymore without taking pills. Do you know how many truckers were in that position? you take the pills or lose your driver’s licence just like everyone being pushed for the shots.

Exactly, numbers for baseline of BP, glucose, cholesterol and other tests have went down just so they can push pills.

Yes cholesterol makes up the protective lining of the brain. Without it Alzheimer’s is a result. God made our bodies to produce cholesterol for a reason. Big Pharma just want to kill us but make it a slow sickly decline so we need lots of meds.

They keep lowering blood pressure numbers too. Almost everyone "needs" them now as well. My husbands cholesterol levels were around 180. They want it under 100 now! They treated him like he was gonna die if he didnt raise the statins he was already taking. Took me a few years to get him to realize he didnt need them. I was terrified every day with him on those things. He has all kinds of gut issues and who knows what its related to. I stopped taking blood pressure meds they had me on for 10 years because my blood pressure rises when Im at the doctors. I went off them myself and I just had a biometric screening and my blood pressure was 126/80. I took them for 10 years for nothing and they probably harmed me. Is any of this stuff legit anymore? Was it ever?

Jamie, I believe this is why it is very important to become our own best advocates. It is a dangerous game, trusting an industry that makes unbelievable profits on people who are deemed "unhealthy". In addition, an industry that owns the advertising in mainstream media. The body has an unbelievable ability to heal, if allowed to do so

I have also read that too much of the “good” HDL cholesterol is associated with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. HDL-C over 80 in a study had the highest risk for Alzheimer’s. If I recall, an 85% increased risk.

The guy you want to really listen to on this is cardiologist Dr Thomas E Levy, the intellectual heir to Linus Pauling on the vitamin C front. Cardiovascular disease is arterial scurvy in origin. https://www.tomlevymd.com/articles/nh20130919/Cardiologist-speaks-truth-about-cholesterol-and-statins/

I think Dr. McCullough had Dr. Levy on his and Malcolm’s America Outloud podcast to talk about vitamin C, but I don’t remember the subject of statins coming up. Dr. Levy is talking about high doses of vit C, including IV vit C. He also has a financial interest in an oral form of liposomal vit C. He makes it sound like vit C can cure just about anything.

Another great doctor to listen to to better understand cholesterol is Dr Nadir Ali. I learned the most from him. He has two great videos on YouTube showing how the actual data of all the studies show the higher the cholesterol the lower the instances of heart disease, diabetes, etc. He has amazing charts in his presentations that help you to understand. I actually had to pause to study them. Lol. He’s a wonderfully respected cardiologist worldwide, and is as humble as they come. Funny too. Here’s links to the two videos:

Statins are the devil!

I have heart disease. I had 2 stints and my cardiologist & family doc put me on statins *10 mg. Every type I tried gave me leg pain, etc. But the worst was loss of continuity in speech just like Crazy Joe! I had trouble expressing myself when in fact I used to give presentations as part of my job in front of a large crowd of people! My cardiologist told me I had the onslaught of Alzheimers, which scared the hell out of me! Luckily my wife read an article a man published on how he would give lectures, and after going on statins, he could no longer put 2 sentences together! This woke me up!! I traced back my issues with memory loss and inability to communicate issues, and there it was!!! It started right after I began taking my statin!

As my 2 doctors insisted that I increase the dosage levels of my statins, I refused. I have since weened myself off of them after the doctor told me I was now borderline diabetic. My point of writing this is that everything this article states is true, and I am the POSTER CHILD and can affirm its validity !!!

One final thought --- DO YOUR RESEARCH -- don't take my word for this:

Back in the turn of the century approx. 1909. The Rockerfeller Family business took over the CDC and later the FDA. In addition, they agreed to begin funding to MEDICAL COLLEGES who educate our future doctors. (So in other words, this is why your family doctor regurgitates his fake training by big pharma! He THINKS he knows what he's talking about, and many times he does, but his knowledge is laced with propagandized Rockerfeller bullshit!) When the Rockerfellers began funding they put certain stipulations on funding and that being, they were to push petroleum based drugs, as opposed to known supplements and foods that we knew help with diseases. As we all know, later on they had laws passed that ONLY A DRUG CAN CURE A DISEASE in order to protect their investment! And we all know how that worked. The CDC stood up for the Covid jab and forced it down our throats... Does it prevent Covid??? Hmm!!! Buyer beware! You are the only one in the wheelhouse of your health and family's well being! Not your doctor, not big pharma.... sometimes they help... many times not so much!

A really eye-opening and informative video I found 2-1/2 years ago was by Marianne DiMassi who exposed the statin controversy. They tried to silence her and destroy her life and career over it. Dr. Huber on substack had an amazing article. Statins are needed to make real vitamin D. Agent 131711 in substack proved synthetic vitamin D is rat poison. Since we share a little over 90% dna with rats it makes sense now. Rockefeller took over the medical industry back in the 1920s. There is no picture of real vitamin D. How they came up with D is that they heated cod liver oil. They knew cod liver oil cured the blindness and the Ricketts. The two “vitamins “ that came out of cod liver oil after heating it was Vitamin A = eyes Vitamin D for bones. Cholecalciferol is the main ingredient of vitamin D. This kills. Go look at Tom Cat or other rat poisons. Main ingredient is cholecalciferol. In early March of this year “they” brought out the story of the guy in Australia who die from taking too much vitamin D. All the news wires had the story. They know it kills why The reason why they have you take the vitamin d test level is to see if your rat poison levels are high enough. It all is related. Statin brings down your ability to synthesize the sun to make real vitamin D which is important for life. They are blocking the sun, See Bill Gates and the projects to block the sun. So you think you are doing good by taking vitamin D supplements but your not. It’s slowly poisoning you. Btw, Dr. Sinatra from California was the first Dr. To go around and tell other doctors that statins were good. He then when he saw the data tried to undue the mess he started. Kinda like what Darwin did. He also spent his last years trying to undue the mess he started.

Ratio of triglycerides to HDL is the best indicator to watch.

Do you have a link to specific ratio recommendations?

From ketogenicforuns.com, an answer to another member’s question about their ratio:

“What is an appropriate measure to indicate cardiovascular risk? The ratio of triglycerides to HDL. For example, your pre-keto ratio is 1.8 ÷ 1.23 = 1.43, which is high. Ideally, you want it under 0.9. Eating a low-carb, high-fat diet rich in saturated and mono-unsaturated fats will help you achieve that goal. A high triglyceride level is a sign of excessive carbohydrate intake, nothing to do with fat.

And for the record, if your ratio of triglycerides to HDL is below 0.9, you don’t have to worry about whatever your LDL decides to do.” -PaulL

There are definitely better links out there as I have heard it many times from doctors like Dr Nadir Ali, and from reading Dr Paul Mason, Dr Rob Lustig, and Dr Ken Berry, but I have hard copies of their books or long videos that I have not bookmarked, and not easy for me to “link” to. I did link to Dr Ali in my other replies here but I cannot remember whether the ideal ratio is presented in those videos or not. I can tell you the science discussed on ketogenicforums is kept quite balanced and sound, and partially based on all these doctors I’ve listed. PaulL is one of our biggest experts there.

I was on statins for many years, solely because I am diabetic. Several years ago I started seeing articles on the dangers of statins and started talking to my doctors about it. Brainwashed by pharma, they were insistent that I take them. Finally, about 3 years ago, I stopped taking them. My new doctor here in South Carolina said “good, you probably don’t need them!” What a refreshing experience! If only we had more doctors like him who follow real science and not the dictates of the pharmaceutical industry.

I had stopped the fenofibrate previously for the same reason but didn’t get as much blowback from the doctors. Perhaps there wasn’t enough pharma profits for that one?

Recently my husband and I had an appointment with a nurse practitioner at a PCP office and that was only because where we live we can't get in with a gyn or urologist without a pcp referral because the state was flooded with transplants during covid and there aren't enough providers in the state to accommodate everyone. Since I've had a gyn cancer and he had kidney cancer in 2020 and lost a kidney we had no choice. She did a full blood work up on us and when our labs came back we were both on the "high side" of NORMAL. The response to that was that we really needed to get our "bad" cholesterol down and we may have to look at using a statin if we can't. We both politely declined. We don't have high cholesterol, we don't have heart issues, we aren't diabetic or even pre-diabetic and I see no reason to ingest any of these pharma products. We both are at the age (55 and 67) that our hormone levels are way off (post-menopausal and low T) and it has definitely made the struggle of not gaining or losing weight difficult and that is more concerning to us. Thankfully the nurse practitioner was a big proponent of bioidentical hormone replacement pellets which are plant based from yams not synthetic pharma products. We both opted to give it a go and not only are our hormones back to the levels you normally have in your 30's but our labs have improved, and we feel great! I can't reconcile how she could be against synthetic pharma hormones but wanted to consider statins for us. Anyway, we won't be taking statins, we are using tallow, duck fat, butter and coconut oil for our cooking and we are perfectly happy and healthy.
