I do believe in the One, True, living God, our Creator and Redeemer. God gives us an innate knowledge and understanding of who He is and free will to decide whether we want to follow Him or the world. When a nation as a whole follows Him and His Word, He blesses that nation. When a nation as a whole rejects Him and His Word he withdraws His blessing and let’s the nation do it their way. That’s where we are and anyone can see the catastrophic effects of disobedience, loss of morality and breakdown of the family. As believers we can pray for God to turn this country around but His plans will be accomplished despite bad, evil leaders. I didn’t mention Aliens, you did. My hope and trust is in Almighty God and in Him alone.
While my concept of God is probably a bit different - logic and a sense of connection to something bigger tell me there is a Source of Creation, however we may name it - I agree that it's fine, and often a good idea!, to ask for help. But it would be a mistake to hope for divine (or alien) intervention and do nothing to help ourselves. And clean up our own mess. Help thyself and God will help thee, right?
That said, it's probably not just our mess and responsibility. I do sense some bigger forces at work here on our planet, creating havoc, dividing and ruling, pitching us against each other, feeding off the drama and trauma, the wars and catastrophes, via the negative energy they create in us humans (loosh). Probably also feeding off our blood. Anti-human forces/entities that have been observed by every culture. Maybe the concept of Satan sums them up. Maybe the notion of Wetiko comes closer to it. Perhaps it's Reptiliansm Dracos and other nasty Alien races. Or all of the above. In that case, I do pray that a force more powerful than us is on our side in this war for the survival of humanity as we know it...

We have to be honest here, this makes it even harder for people to admit they were wrong.
