"What has your experience been like with the new Twitter (X)?"

Still banned, waiting for the promised amnesty for accounts that did nothing illegal.

I am sorry that you are still banned. It's sad how many people are in the same boat. X is been very disappointing lately. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I'm not sure if I'm sorry. Substack is obviously the superior platform, but there's a lot of people on Twitter who would never wander into our orbit over here. If we believe in the power of free markets, we should be able to outcompete them anyway, right? ;)

The problem is that there are many differences between Twitter & SUBSTACK. You really can’t compare them. SUBSTACK is very expensive when you add up just some of the stacks that you want to subscribe to that charge for the privilege of being able to read or comment. Twitter is free if you don’t want to pay the blue check. Twitter is more conversational & you interact with more people that you disagree with. SUBSTACK never responds if you need help with ANY thing. If you report something they never respond. Even on the most egregious cases. IMO SUBSTACK is never going to overtake Twitter. There are many brilliant writers here but it’s a preaching to the choir situation for the most part.

I do think hiring Linda Yaccarino was the biggest mistake Elon could have made.

yaccarino was hired by musk to do exactly what she's doing. he wanted someone else to be the 'bad cop' so it would appear his hands were clean (and tied). he masquerades as a 'free speech absolutist' and lives for the adulation of his 'fanboys.' I've never understood his appeal. no one would think he's a 'genius' were he not a billionaire many times over. he was lucky enough to be born to wealth, and to be in the right place at the right time (with cash), time and time again. he's not really an engineer, his patents are ridiculous, tesla was someone else's baby and would not have survived without government handouts. he's pt barnum without the charisma...

I agree. The more you find out about him, the less likable he is. I’m starting to believe that he’s not really the owner of Twitter, he’s a front guy. What do you think?

Something like that Leslie, but a better way to view it, is that he's the owner of the "Company" (CIA,KGB,CSB,MOSSAD,MI5, all INTEL worldwide Pinkertons in every country reporting to BIG-ZOG), Anglo-American Corp(SA late 1800's), East-India-Company(opium early 1800's)

ZOG is really serious about "FAMILY", you see that with Bill Gates III, and Chelesa Clinton, all the WEF young leaders, they all drop near the mother tree;

I always say "Poor little MUSK", born a trillionaire, and made a billionaire

...

Well to answer your question it gets back to his "INFINITE WEALTH", all he ever did was a 'video-game' in High-School then he bought his way into Paypal, and then bought Tesla, Space-X, he never actually started any of these company's from scratch, he bought existing companys and re-branded them.

Like Gates, it already helps if you OWN the best LAWYERS on earth, which is why if you look closely, MUSK & Gates never lose a lawsuit;

Gates stole "DOS" from Seattle-Computer back in 1980, and forced to pay $50k, and later $1M USD, but made $100's of billions, safe to say that everything little billy ever did, he stole, but like I said, his father owned the biggest lawfirm and most powerful in Seattle.

The one to study however is Peter Thiel the secret vampire that never gets mentioned flaming HOMO, owner of OPEN-AI, and PALANTIR(CIA); Him&MUSK are life partners, and both play good-cop/Bad-Cop, while MUSK playes with WEF, Thiel is President of BilderbergGroup-USA, and bilderberg is who runs the earth, an WEF is just a circus act.

U R giving the rhodes-deBeers heir way too much credit

WEF gal is the Schwab leader of the trans-humanism project at WEF

MUSK personally leads the entire trans-humanism with his pencil-dick brain-cap "Neuralink" business model where everybody is chipped and linked, just like in the Matrix.

...

Neuralink (MUSK is owner&founder) announced that it was aiming to make devices to treat serious brain diseases in the short-term, with the eventual goal of human enhancement, sometimes called trans-humanism.

Today Yaccarino run's Xtwit, tomorrow she will run the globo-homo MUSK trans-humanism X-Man project, its all about marketing and vision and Musk wants to focus on his rockets & autos to take you places you don't want to go;

Real in depth thought cannot be communicated in a tweet. Sound bites and memes breed shallow thinkers. I will stay with Substack for the longest posts and articles.

I completely agree that the quality of the exchanges is much better on substack, maybe bc I tend to connect with people of a similar mindset. I learn a lot on Twitter bc there are short snippets of news that I don't get on Substack and it doesn't require such an investment of my time. I don't pay for either bc I just can't afford it. Both sites provide me with benefits, but they are quite different.

Have you heard of Gab, GETTR, Telegram and TruthSocial.

Anyway, you can always create new accounts just to read - like I did.

I was on Parler for a while before it died. Maybe Gab too?

I prefer notes to both.

I meant reach. Platforms are mere computer codes if they don't have contents.

And you, and others, are the content providers - and therefore should wag them; not allowing platforms to wag you.

Yes, I like "Notes" - it was what I had wished Sub would do.

Gab is a niche platform and will be around for a while, if they don't whack its owner.

Parler 2 is too slow and its content providers have moved to GETTR and TS.

Two others I have since remembered: MeWe and Minds.

I noticed that the content providers that I follow on GETTR have paused their posts since the bird allowed them some freedom.

Content providers naturally gravitate to eyeballs. And who are the eyeballs? We are! Therefore, we are to blame - not the stud and other DS assets.

I enjoy both GETTR and TruthSocial and hope to see these platforms grow.

GAB is also very impressive. CEO Andrew Torba is playing the long game and has made every effort to make his organization cancellation-proof. The GAB eco-system is very impressive. Check out the new GAB A.I. called “Gabby” for creating customized images.

I think GAB will come into full flower over the next few years and encourage everyone to try it out.

•Masks are useless.

•The covid fear-mongering was to get already made jabs in people’s arms.

•Then a vid with a doctor saying don’t whatever you do vaccinate your children.

Permanently banned even after appeal. Makes me wonder about some of those Doctors that had their accounts reinstated.

I quit Twitter over a month ago. https://suzannescacca.substack.com/p/breaking-up-with-twitter

There were so many red flags when Musk took over. Keeping Alex Jones banned despite calling himself a free speech absolutist. Then there was the elonjet/stalker drama he made up. And of course the ending of the Twitter Files before delivering on the so called #faucifiles.

I kept telling myself I needed to stay there for my job, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. It felt like I was shouting into the ether because I had been so severely shadowbanned. And I could feel the noose tightening as the app inched closer to WeChat.

I’m glad people like you are starting to speak out against Musk and Twitter now. More people need to wake up to what’s going on.

Expand full comment

I'm so glad you mentioned the FauciFiles. I keep feeling like I'm the only one who noticed they never materialized. Was there ever any explanation of why not? Did you have "withdrawal" when you left Twitter? Have you found an acceptable replacement? I'm going to read your Substack, now.

Expand full comment

I can't remember if I covered this on my Substack, but someone had asked Alex Berenson about the Fauci Files since he was one of the writers who said he was going to cover them. He was basically like, "What Fauci Files?" Then when Musk got pressed about the Fauci Files and the end of the Twitter Files altogether, he was like, "We have better things to focus on. Forget about them."

https://mashable.com/article/elon-musk-move-on-twitter-files

The whole thing was a limited hangout. If you haven't heard of that, I'd suggest checking out CJ Hopkins' Substack. He does a wonderful job explaining what the term means.

In terms of withdrawal, the only thing I really noticed was that I automatically went to open Twitter every morning and every evening after work. It had just become a mindless habit. It took a few days before I was able to kick the habit. But other than that, no, I don't feel as though I've missed it in any other way.

And an acceptable replacement? No. The only social I use now is Instagram and it's mainly to look at puppies and listen to comedians. With Twitter gone, I'm consciously trying to find a real world community. I know there have to be sane people out there somewhere! Haha!

I live in a small town in the middle of Spain surrounded by vaccinated people so I find it difficult to find "my group" in the real world. The speech is better Twitter, ie, its harder to get suspended. But the way they have put users into clusters and limited reach makes it an echo chamber. Elon wants to pull in the content creators, but I see very little content there that is worthwhile. Substack is much better imo, and over time, maybe the Notes will gather more steam.

I’m not on X much and I never was. I prefer Gab, but I mostly lurk.

I can say that Musks ‘freedom of speech, not freedom of reach’ is a line created by the ADL. The real CEO of X is Jonathan Greenblat. A lot of people have not been unbanned and many that were unbanned were subsequently rebanned even though they never violated the TOS. Probably because they’re on the ADL hit list.

Musk still does not have control of his company. As he moves away from the reliance on ad revenue for cash flow then maybe he will put things right. I’m not exactly betting in that happening, but it is possible. As long as as revenue drives the company it’s “meet the new boss, same as the old boss”.

Many people I know have been suspended, but most concerning is the outright ban I received with no warning or ability to remove the offending post and be re-instated. I think this is happening to alot of people who have 3k - 10k followers, from what I have heard. I didn’t attack or use anyone’s name. I suggested having the death penalty brought back for traitors who sell out our country, without naming individuals. I guess that was a bridge too far. Either Musk doesn’t know whats going on at X or he is a fraud. There appears to be a big uptick on Truth Social, but not sure if it’s due to people being canceled on X.

Expand full comment

I got a week's suspension and it sounds like what happened to you, is the same playbook. People are going to say it couldnt happen to them, but it's happening. What I wrote was in support of woman having children, the families are liberation. That was deemed hate speech. The algorithms haven't got the capability to read between the lines, the subtle nuances of the English language. What bothers me is that Elon says the platform supports free speech, but that's not true. It's the speech they deem to be allowed to be heard. I dont like social media being owned privately, as the owners have too much control. Social media is a public utility. To have the power of the kill switch is to much power.

Expand full comment

Unfortuantly mine was a permanent ban. With no ability to reinstate. I sent in 2 protests/appeals but they are steadfast against wrong-think. I never use profanity or promote mob rule, or violence. With no warning or redress. I think you are right that the algorithms have little ability to recognize nuance. In the end, when people have no voice, things can get sketchy quickly.
