Coca Cola, aka Diabetes Fluid can be purchased with food stamps and SNAP cards because.... sugar is cheap calories. Cola drinks are a significant contributor to obesity. Obesity leads to many expensive health problems that taxpayers are on the hook for. Regular folks don't know much about nutrition, and since the government gives the money to buy cola, they assume it's not really harmful. Besides, those on welfare and SNAP benefits also get free healthcare, so there are no financial consequences to eating poorly.
Congress is well aware of this issue, but will not fix it. The soda industry is too powerful. So powerful that Coke got away with promoting their mini cans of soda as healthy to diabetics.
The country cannot afford 40% of the population being obese and unhealthy.
Visiting tribal lands where the tribes don’t get to live anymore. History says the tribe got too big, lost its moral code and then the soil didn’t produce sustenance as it once did. Way back when that happened they knew it was time to migrate and return to where they began.
